Sancho Lyttle named to C-USA All-Conference First Team

Houston's senior Sancho Lyttle was named to C-USA All-Conference First team on Wednesday. Lyttle isn't the only Lady Cougar to be honored this season. Senior Guard Joann Overstreet was also named to C-USA Third team.
Joining Lyttle on the C-USA first team are TCU's Sandora Irvin, DePaul's Khara Smith, Louisville's Jazz Covington, USF's Jessica Dickson and Houston's Sancho Lyttle.
The 2005 All-Conference USA second team includes: Charlotte junior guard Sakellie Daniels, DePaul senior guard Jenni Dant, East Carolina senior guard/forward Jennifer Jackson, and Marquette's duo of junior guard Carolyn Kieger and sophomore forward Christina Quaye.
Named to the C-USA All-Conference Third Team were three guards, Natasha Lacy of TCU, Joann Overstreet of Houston and Allie Quigley of DePaul; along with two forwards, Victoria Crawford of Memphis and Lakethia Hampton of Tulane.
Lyttle leads the Lady Cougars in scoring and rebounds, averaging 18.5 points and 12.6 boards. Lyttle is second in the nation in rebounding behind Sandora Irvin. Lyttle is 29th in the nation in scoring.
Leading the Lady Cougars in assists and twelfth in the country is Joann Overstreet. Overstreet also leads the team in steals with an average of 3.7 per game, which puts her sixth in the country.
The Lady Cougar are in Charlotte, N.C. for the C-USA tournament. Houston is the third seed and faced the winner of the Cincinnati/Charlotte game on Friday in the second round of tournament due to their third seed bye in the first round.
