The Lady Cougars (19-7, 9-4 C-USA) travel to Fort Worth for their final regular season game against TCU (19-8, 10-3 C-USA) with a Noon CST tip on Sunday Feb.27. The Lady Cougars are out for revenge from the game on January, 30 when TCU beat the Lady Cougars, 63-55, Houston's first home loss on the season.
The star match-up will continue to be between two heavily decorated post players, Houston senior Sancho Lyttle against TCU's senior Sandora Irvin. Both players have won C-USA Player Of The Week multiple times and both have been named as Mid-Season Naismith award candidates.
Sancho Lyttle is averaging 18.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while Sandora Irvin averages 20 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. During their last meeting, both players had three fouls in the first half, which put them on the bench less than eight minutes into the game.
Depending on what happens this week in conference play, Houston can earn a three or four seed for the league tournament, which takes place over March 3-6 in Charlotte, NC. DePaul won the regular-season championship on Sunday with a 95-59 victory over Memphis, moving their record to 12-1 in C-USA. Louisville can earn the No. 2 seed with a victory over Cincinnati Friday Feb. 25. If the Cardinals prevail, the winner of the Houston-TCU game will be seeded third and the loser fourth.
