UAB HEAD COACH LARRY GIANGROSSO
"I'm real proud of our guys. There were times when their pitcher was pitching on both sides of the plate and throwing that breaking ball and he was really tough. We battled and hung in there and got just enough."
"We got a great pitching performance out of Adam (Price), and then Roberts (Eric) came in and did a great job. What can you say, it was just a great win for UAB."
On the position UAB is now in, in the C-USA Tournament
"We're in a situation that on Saturday, somebody is going to have to beat us twice. We need one game to get to the championship game, and that's a good place to be. A couple of years ago we got in the losers bracket and fought our way out, but you use so much pitching to do that. We'll take tomorrow and get energized again, but this is a pretty good situation to be in."
UAB CATCHER EUGENE RODRIGUEZ
On the at bat and game tying RBI in the bottom of the ninth with two outs
"My nerves were going a little bit, but I settled down and started thinking a little bit. Once they got the two strikes on me, I was looking for a fastball in and I got it."
"I can't even explain it right now. We're just out there living life, playing hard and that's what you want to do. You have to tip your hat to their pitcher, he kept us off balance all day and we just kept battling and put some hits together and came away with the game.
