Jones named Kodak All American

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Eastman Kodak Company today announced Houston's Chandi Jones as a member of the 2004 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team. Selection committees in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select ten women's basketball players to be honored. Joining Jones on the 2004 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team are Seimone August (LSU), Alana Beard (Duke), Shyra Ely (Tennessee), Kelly Mazzante (Penn State), Janel McCarville (Minnesota), Nicole Ohlde (Kansas State), Diana Taurasi (UCONN), Nicole Powell (Stanford) and Lindsay Whalen (Minnesota).
Jones, is the first player from the University of Houston and Conference USA to make the Kodak All-America team.
"The committee did an excellent job in selecting this 30th anniversary team," said WBCA Chief Executive Officer Beth Bass. "These players have had excellent seasons and are deserving of this most prestigious honor and recognition. The WBCA wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors."

Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game as an amateur sport for women and girls.
