Hello Coog fans!
It has been awhile since I've submitted an entry, so there is a lot to talk about. I hope everyone is happy about the first legitimate winning streak that we've put together for ya'll. The team sure is, and confidence is beginning to blossom in the Cougar Baseball locker room. After losing so many series at the beginning of the year against good opponents due to shooting ourselves in the foot, it can take a while to build that confidence back up.
The real test will be this weekend against ECU. ECU's fans are nuts. Last time we went there, they had fans lined up all along the outfield fence, and it was called the jungle. They ended that after our series because of an incident where one of the fans threw a beer at Mike (Bourn), so they don't exactly like us.
We have kept our heads a little bit above water and happen to still be in the hunt for a conference championship and a Regional. We could use everyone's support during our remaining home series. Don't be afraid to try to get into the other team's head. Our team loves it when our fans do that.
This week I'm going to talk about Cole Bruce who I've happened to play with for the past three years. This is a great guy with a big heart but sometimes is not the smartest of people. He happens to be a very intelligent person, but doesn't always come off that way.
He is kind of like me in a way because he's the dumbest smart kid I know and that is what Coach Allen has said to me on more one occasion. Cole is a big laugher and it can get out of hand on the bus sometimes because half the team tells him to shut up. It can get pretty loud on there when he gets going which in turn gets me laughing.
