Hey Coog fans,
It's been a hectic past three weeks. We've basically been on the road the whole month of March, and it's been a little disappointing, but there have been a few positives during our road stretch.
Patrick Gaylord has played outstanding during this time, making his first start in San Diego. We have had a few injuries with Bott and Musslewhite breaking their hands, but they should be back in the next couple of weeks.
The San Diego tournament was a lot of fun, especially playing in front of 40,000 people. It was little surreal at first seeing that many people coming to see us play, but when the game started it was the same as any other.
Our hitting is coming around nicely and I feel like its improving every game. Our pitching is the biggest concern right now, but we're doing everything to turn it around. The main thing is that we still have a lot of season left and we are going to turn it around.
The next player I'd like to talk about is Brett Cooley. I've played with Brett for three years now, and this guy can flat out hit the baseball. I've seen him hit some of the farthest home runs I've seen in my four years playing college baseball. The injuries that happened to him have not affected his hitting at all which says a lot about the guy.
It's hard to sit out a whole year and then come back and hit the ball the way he did before. You can always hear him talking from the dugout and on the field over everyone else because of his voice. He's got a really deep voice, which I love to imitate when he's around and causes him to take a crack at me, but it's all in good fun.
