Lady Cougars move up in National polls

HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's basketball team moved up in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll this week, reaching season highs in both polls. The Coaches Poll has the Lady Cougars ranked No. 14 in the nation and the Associated Press poll tabbed Houston No. 17.
The lady Cougars are the highest-ranking team in Conference USA in the Coaches Poll with TCU coming in at No. 15 and DePaul at No. 18. In the AP poll the Horned Frogs hold the top spot in the conference at No. 13 while Houston is No. 17 and DePaul is No. 20.
Houston (23-3, 12-1 C-USA) and TCU will meet Friday at 7 p.m. at Hofheinz Pavilion in both teams regular season finale. The Lady Cougars wrapped up at least a share of the C-USA title Sunday afternoon with a 77-64 win over Marquette, and can win the title outright with a win over the Horned Frogs who are in second place with a 11-2 conference record, 22-4 overall.
