Cougars Compete at LSU Twilight

With the 2004 Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championship just a week away, four Cougars traveled to Baton Rouge, La., to compete among the field of nearly 20 collegiate teams in the LSU Twilight Invitational on Friday, Feb. 20.
Freshman LaDedra Guy posted both a personal and Cougar best in the women's 60-meter dash, placing ninth with a finish time of 7.65 seconds. Fellow sprinter Lisa Wilson placed 18th with a personal-best time of 7.86 seconds.
Sophomore Renee Clarke finished in tenth place in the women's 200-meter dash in crossing the finish line in 25.53 seconds, the second-best time by a Cougar this season.
For the men, the lone competitor was Milton Manson in the men's 60-meter hurldles, who qualified with a finish time of 8.14 seconds in the preliminaries and placed fourth overall with a time of 8.16 seconds in the finals.
Houston hosts the 2004 Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Yeoman Field House from Friday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, Feb. 28. Competition begins at 8:00am on Friday morning with the combined events in the pentathlon.
