LAWRENCE, Kan. - The University of Houston swimming and diving team fell to Kansas 267-83 and 287-63 to Harvard on Saturday in a simultaneous dual meet at Robinson Natatorium.
For the second consecutive day, the Cougars dominated the diving events with junior captain Azul Almazan winning the 3-meter springboard competition. The Mexico, City, Mexico, native finished the event with 312.50 points.
Sophomore Anna Kiess, who won the 1-meter event Friday, finished second with 304.55 points. The Cougar duo was the only divers to top the 300-point plateau.
On the swimming side, sophomore Szintia Szanto finished third in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:27.84 and followed that with a fourth-place performance in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.13.
This weekend's meet will be the Cougars' last until Dec. 31 when they compete at the Duke Kahanamoku Sprint Meet in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
