Houston Soccer Falls to Baylor, 2-0

Baylor scored two goals in the final 22 minutes of play and halted the Houston offense as the Bears held on for a 2-0 victory over the Cougars in their first home match of the 2003 campaign on Friday night (Sept. 5) at Robertson Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, which saw Baylor out-shoot Houston, 11-4, the Cougars opened the second half and dominated the first 18 minutes, out-shooting the Bears, 10-9. Junior midfielder Nikki Hawkins led the brigade for the Cougars with four shots, followed by senior Nicole Aubuchon and sophomore Kelly Golden with two shots each.
Baylor's Ginny Rosario-Tull sailed a high shot over Cougar goalie Sarah Webster, who recorded four saves on the night, for the first score at 68:14, then following an assist from teammate April Robertson, scored the second and final goal just eight minutes later.
Baylor goalie Monica Housden notched six saves, including a penalty kick from Hawkins late in the second half.
With the loss, the Cougars season record now rests at 1-2-0. They continue this current home stand against the visiting SMU Mustangs on Sunday, Sept. 7, at Robertson Stadium with kick-off slated for a 1:00 p.m.
