Softball to Host Alabama A&M, No. 9 DePaul

HOUSTON - After a six-day break, the University of Houston softball team will host five games this week at the Cougar Softball Stadium. The Cougars (22-13, 6-0 C-USA) will face Alabama A&M in a non-conference doubleheader Thursday at 5 p.m. and No. 9 DePaul in a three-game Conference USA series Saturday and Sunday.
The Cougars, who currently sit at the top of league standings (6-0), will face the No. 9 Blue Demons (16-3, 3-0 C-USA) in a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. DePaul has won 11 of its last twelve games, including a 1-0 upset over No. 1 UCLA on March 9 at the Kia Klassic in Fullerton, Calif.
Junior pitcher Jamie Falco (10-5) leads the Cougar battery with a team-best 1.06 ERA in 92.2 innings of work in 2003. Third baseman Kristen Glowacz, who is hitting .367, leads Conference USA in doubles (10), is second in homeruns (six), and has not struck out in 25 games.
The Cougars have won nine of their last 12 games and are coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 7 Texas March 20 in Austin.
