Longoni Named C-USA Tennis Player of the Week

HOUSTON - University of Houston senior Analia Longoni was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending Feb.10.
Longoni (Caracas, Venezuela-Stetson University) helped the Cougars to a 6-1 victory over Louisiana Tech Friday. Playing the No. 1 singles position for the second time this year, Longoni posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Saharai Uriarte.
She teamed with Cristina Rueda Flores Bravo at No. 3 doubles to defeat the Tech duo of Danielle Landry/Morgan Majors, 8-0. This is the first time Longoni has earned Player of the Week honors.
The Cougars (2-3, 0-1 C-USA) will travel to Alabama this weekend to face the Crimson Tide Saturday and UAB Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at noon.
