Cougars Open Five Game Home Stand Against Bethune Cookman

After having an eight-day break for final exams, the University of Houston men's basketball team will begin a five-game homestand when the Cougars play host to Bethune Cookman on December 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Hofheinz Pavilion.
The Cougars enter the game looking for their second win of the season and are 1-3 this season after suffering an 88-61 loss at UTEP on December 8. Bethune Cookman is 0-3 after falling 54-42 at Texas Southern last Monday night.
This marks the first time that Houston and Bethune Cookman have met on the hardwood and the first time the Cougars will play a Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference team.
Junior guard Andre Owens leads the Cougars with 18.3 points per game and averages 2.8 assists per contest. Freshman point guard Lanny Smith averages 8.5 points and 3.8 assists per game, while freshman forward Andrew Francis is chipping in with 7.3 point and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Senior Anwar Ferguson leads Houston in rebounding with 7.0 rebounds per game and averages 6.5 points per game.
Following the Bethune Cookman game, Houston will play host to Washington on December 20, Chicago State on December 23, Texas A&M on December 27 and LSU on December 30. All five home games begin at 7:30 p.m. and can be heard on KBME (AM 790) radio.
