Baseball to Take Part in Annual Silver Glove Luncheon

HOUSTON - With the start of baseball season right around the corner, it also means that it's just about time to begin the annual Silver Glove Series sponsored by Sterling Bank with crosstown rival Rice.
With that in mind, the University of Houston baseball team will take part at the annual Silver Glove Series luncheon at Frankie Mandola's on Kirby Street at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12.
UH head coach Rayner Noble is scheduled to address the audience at the luncheon and will be joined by the Cougar players and coaching staff.
Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so Cougar fans are encouraged to arrive early.
The Silver Glove Series sponsored by Sterling Bank, is the five-game, regular-season series between the Cougars and Rice. In 2003, UH will play host to the Owls at Cougar Field in three games during the Series.
