HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis team will begin its spring season Saturday as it hosts McNeese State and UT-Pan American at the John E. Hoff Varsity Courts. The Cougars will face McNeese at 11 a.m. and will begin competition against Texas-Pan American at 2:45 p.m. or following the conclusion of the earlier match.
The Cougars were set to open their season Friday (Jan. 24) but had to postpone the match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi due to the drop in temperature. The date and time of the rescheduled match has yet to be determined.
Head Coach Jennifer Hyde, who is in her fourth year at Houston, is looking forward to a year of new learning experiences and more competitive play. The Cougar roster includes three returnees in Analia Longoni, Karine Urbin and Sarah Flood. Six newcomers are expected to contribute immediately to the success of the squad.
Houston will travel to Ft. Worth to open Conference USA competition Feb. 1 against TCU with match time set for noon.
