Memphis to Host 2003 C-USA Tournament March 6-9

The 2003 C-USA Women's Basketball Tournament will be held March 6-9 in Memphis, Tenn. The University of Memphis will serve as the host institution for the four-day event, with the champion receiving the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The top 12 regular season finishers qualify for the tournament. and the top four seeds receive first round byes. The semifinals on Saturday, March 8 will be televised by affiliates of the Conference USA Television network. ESPN 2 will televise the championship game live on Sunday, March 9.
The Top 12 finishers in the regular season standings will compete in the conference tournament, with the champion receiving the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The teams with the four best conference records earn first-round byes. Teams receiving a bye shall be seeded 1-4. The remaining eight teams will be seeded 5-12 with the No. 5 seed playing No. 12, No. 6 vs. No. 11, No. 7 vs. No. 10 and No. 8 vs. No. 9.
