Cougars Drop Two to UAB Blazers

Birmingham, Ala. - The Cougars dropped two games today to the Blazers of UAB 4-1 and 4-1.
In the first game the Blazers took a commanding lead in the fourth inning scoring four in the fourth inning. UAB led 4-0 going into the top of the sixth inning.
The Cougars managed one run in the sixth inning begin by a line-drive double by Lindsay Durham. Leslie Seay drove in the first run singling to center and Ali McDougall singled to right field, finishing the innings hitting and the same score after six, 4-1. Without scoring another run the Cougars lost the first game 4-1 finishing the game with a meager five hits and two errors.
Taking the lead again in the second game, the Blazers went up 1-0 in the first inning and picked up their second run in the second inning on a solo homerun.
Lindsay Durham scored the lone run for the Cougars with her second homerun of the year putting the Cougars year total at 44.
Both Jenny Johnson and Jamie Falco earned losses on the day for the pitching staff. The Cougars will be back in action on Sunday April 28, 2002 for the thrid game of the Conference series.
