Houston Cougar Softball Finished by Blazers

Birmingham, Ala. - - The Cougars (32-23, 6-13) lost the third game of the series to the Blazers (35-17, 13-7) of UAB, 9-1.
In the third game of the conference series the Blazers took a four run lead in the third inning on four hits. The Cougar's Kim Nesloney was the first to bat after the strong Blazer half inning and knocked the first pitch over the left field fence for the Cougars 45th homerun of the year. At the top of the fourth inning UAB lead 4-1.
The Blazers came up in the bottom of the fourth and hit back-to-back identical homeruns out of left centerfield, bringing the score to 6-1. The Cougar's Jenny Johnson came in to relieve the pitching staff. They scored two more runs after the switch. The Blazers had five hits in the inning and increased their lead to 8-1.
The loss goes to the Cougars Jamie Falco who is now 14-10 for the year. The Cougars will play at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Wednesday at 2:00pm and 4:00pm and will have their final home series against Louisville on May 4th and 5th at Cougar Softball Complex on the University of Houston campus.
