Houston Seeded No. 2 at Conference USA Tournament

Upon closing out the regular season with an 11-3 mark against Conference USA opponents and a 21-6 overall record during the 2001-02 campaign, the University of Houston Lady Cougars have earned a No. 2 seed and first-round bye in the upcoming Conference USA Women's Basketball Tournament slated to begin March 1 in Chicago, Ill.
Houston will face the winner of the Memphis/Charlotte game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, in the quarterfinal round of the tournament. Should they win that contest, the Lady Cougars will advance to play in the semi-final round against No. 3 Cincinnati and either Southern Miss or Louisville.
With a 72-57 victory over Marquette on Sunday, the TCU Horned Frogs captured their first Conference USA regular season championship and are seeded No. 1 in the tournament.
This year's league tournament is hosted by DePaul and all games will be played at the DePaul Athletic Center. All Lady Cougar games can be heard in Houston on KGBC Am 1540.
