Cougar Softball Receives Top 25 Votes

Houston, Texas - For the first time in program history the Cougars got twelve votes in the NFCA polls that came out on February 17, 2002. The Cougars have begun their season by sweeping the B&G Properties tournament and their next four games, before incurring a loss to Ohio State. (Ohio State received 46 votes in this weeks polls.)
The Cougars are now 13-3 and will be traveling to the University of Louisiana Lafayette(#22)for their tournament this weekend. In addition to Lafayette, Florida and Northwestern State will also be participating in the four team tournament. This will be the most competitive tournament so far this season for the Cougars and will give the team a good opportunity for experience and exposure.
The Cougar's next home game will be next Wednesday February 27 at 4:00pm versus cross-street rivals Texas Southern in a double-header.
