Houston, Texas - The most recent addition to Cougar fast pitch is Nicole Dickson. A Texas native, Dickson is the second assistant coach for the second year Cougar squad. Dickson will assist coaches Holas and Dobson in solidifying Houston's newest women's program. She will concentrate on working with the infielders as a former third baseman and fine tuning batters.
Dickson comes to Houston working with the San Antonio Sports Foundation. She served as personal assistant to the Manager of Olympic Development Program and participated in promoting such events as the 2007 Pan American Games, NCAA basketball men's and women's Final Four and men's and women's NCAA Big XII Soccer Championships.
As a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, Dickson was a four-year letterman in softball for the Tigers. As captain, she helped her team to a back-to-back Conference titles in '99 and '00, while personally earning back-to-back All-Conference SCAC honors in '99 and '00 and second-team All-Region honors and team MVP in the year 2000. During her tenure at Trinity she also received a four-year Texas Italian-American Sports Foundation scholarship and was honored with the Jim Potter Sportsmanship Award, before she graduated with a bachelors in sociology and a minor in business administration in May 2000.
"I am really excited about the opportunity to begin my coaching career at the University of Houston, especially in a program with such room for growth and success."
Dickson currently resides in Sugarland, Texas after recently moving from Nashville, Tennessee.
