Men's Hoops Handles Southern Miss, 74-66

HOUSTON (AP) - Dominic Smith scored a season high 38 points to help lead Houston to a 74-66 victory over Southern Miss on Wednesday night.
Southern Miss went into the half with a 34-33 lead and stayed within striking distance until George Williams scored the go-ahead layup with 6:50 left to play.
Louis Truscott scored 11 points and picked up 10 rebounds for Houston, marking his eighth double-double of the season.
Elvin Mims scored 14 points for Southern Miss, while Dante Stiggers was the lead rebounder for the Golden Eagles with four.
Smith's 18 free throws ties the Houston's free throw record set in 1969.
