Lady Cougars Ranked Ninth by Trackwire

HOUSTON (Jan. 16) - The University of Houston women's track and field team is ranked ninth in the Trackwire Top 25 poll that was released January 9. Houston finished eighth at last year's NCAA outdoor track and field championships.
This marks the second straight year that Houston has been ranked among Trackwire's Top 10 teams.
Houston is paced by NCAA outdoor long jump champion Jenny Adams, who finished fifth in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships. Adams is ranked as the nation's top long jumper and is second in the 60-meter hurdles by Trackwire.
The Lady Cougars also return All-American Rhian Clarke in the pole vault. Clarke provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Leonard Hilton Memorial meet when she won the pole vault with a mark of 3.10 meters. Clarke is ranked sixth among the nation's top 12 athletes in the pole vault.
