UH Volleyball Team Sweeps Tulane 3-0

HOUSTON, TX -- The University of Houston womens volleyball team remained undefeated in Conference USA action after posting a three-games-to-none sweep of league rival Tulane Sunday afternoon in Hofheinz Pavilion. With the 15-12, 15-6, 15-8 victory the Cougars improved to 3-0 in C-USA play and 9-3 overall after winning their fifth match in a row.
Houston was led Sunday by senior hitter Jennifer Wittenburg, who spiked 27 kills with a .457 hitting percentage to go along with 10 defensive digs and three service aces. Senior middle hitter Michelle Frazier added 10 kills, a .400 hitting percentage and 10 defensive digs.
The Cougars recorded a season-high 11 service aces in the match. The Green Wave was paced by Kim Sentmore's 16 kills. Tulane fell to 7-6 on the year and 1-2 in conference.
UH will next be in action on the road in North Carolina on Thursday, September 28. The Cougars will meet C-USA rival Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. Houston then returns home on Saturday, September 30, to meet state-rival Texas in Hofheinz Pavilion. First serve with the Lady Longhorns is slated for 3:00 p.m.
