Izzie Vaccari joined the University of Houston Soccer program as an assistant coach in April 2025.
In her first season with the Cougars, Vaccari helped the program to its first winning season since 2021 with a 7-4-7 record. Houston recorded its first undefeated non-conference finish in program history including a 4-1 route of rv Texas, marking the first victory against the Longhorns since 2000.
The Cougars allowed just one goal during non-conference action and 14 on the season marking the lowest total ever allowed in non-conference action and the lowest season total since 2010.
The Cougars opened Big 12 Conference play with a 3-1 victory over Cincinnati, marking the most goals scored in a single Big 12 match in program history as well as the first time opening conference play victorious.
Vaccari helped Houston to a 2-4-5 Big 12 record — Houston's best since joining the league — while tallying its most conference points in league play (11).
The Cougars earned three Big 12 weekly awards as Lexi Gonzalez earned the program's first award as Goalkeeper of the week. Samira Minor earned the Big 12's Offensive Player and Freshman of the week after she recorded a brace against Cincinnati, marking the first time since 2021 a Big 12 soccer player had won multiple awards in the same week since 2021.
Minor was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and All-Freshman teams which was the first time a Houston Soccer player earned a spot on the Big 12 First or Second Team in program history. Minor was the second Cougars to earn a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team (Aryanna Jimison, 2023).
Vaccari rejoined Williams staff after spending the 2024 season at SFA where she led the goalkeepers to 13 shutouts which ranked seventh in the country. She helped guide the Lady Jacks to the Southland Conference regular season and tournament titles and a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
The Dublin, Ohio, native was a standout goalkeeper at Miami (OH) where she sits second in career saves and owns the program record in shutouts on her way to earning All-MAC Second Team honors as a senior.
In her final season with the Redhawks in 2022, Vaccari started all 20 matches while leading the team in minutes. She conceded just nine conference goals, and 14 overall which ranked her third in the MAC for the least number of goals allowed. She recorded 10 shutouts that season, breaking her previous record of six set her junior year and placed her third in Miami's record book.
During the 2021 season, Vaccari started all 18 games, recording a 1.17 goals against average with a 72.4 save percentage in 1618 minutes of play. She finished the season with 55 saves, posting six shutouts and averaging two saves a game.
In 2020, Vaccari played in all eight matches and finished the year with a 2.12 goals against average and 44 saves. During her sophomore season, she appeared in 17 of the Redhawks, recorded a 1.44 goals against average with an 82.6 save percentage (second in MAC), and allowed one goal or fewer in 11 of her 17 appearances.
