Rachel Poe returns to her alma mater after spending the previous two years at Houston Baptist as the assistant athletics trainer, working primarily with the Men’s Soccer and Baseball programs. Poe is no stranger to the Houston area, having earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Houston before starting her professional career with the Rice Football program.
After her duration with the Owls ended in 2015, Poe went crosstown to work with Houston Volleyball and assisted with the treatment and rehabilitation of the program’s student-athletes. While with the Cougars, Poe also supported the Men’s Basketball and Football programs, where she provided oversight with treatment of acute and chronic injuries, along with assisting in evaluating student-athletes.
When Poe was named assistant athletics trainer at HBU in July 2017, she became responsible for the Men’s Soccer and Baseball programs. During her two-year stint with the Huskies, Poe implemented new mobility routines and dynamic warmups that aided with injury prevention.
