Dylan Ross rejoined the Houston Volleyball staff in May 2026 after six seasons as a head men’s volleyball coach at his alma mater Loras College.
Prior to rejoining the Houston staff, Ross was the head men’s volleyball coach at Loras College starting in 2021. During his time with Loras College he led the Duhawks to a 25-win season and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, advancing to the Elite Eight. Ross also earned CCIW and Region IV Coach of the Year honors that same season.
In his final season with the Duhawks, Ross led them to an 18-5 record, where senior Corey Mayotte broke the school’s all-time record for kills. He finished his time with the Duhawks ranked in the AVCA poll top 15 every week since his start in 2021. He also maintained an all-time winning percentage of .776 and managed to win 20 matches for the fourth time in school history, making it the second time in three years.
Prior to that, he served as a graduate assistant at Arkansas State under Coach Rehr in 2018. He joined Houston's staff for the first time in 2019 as a volunteer assistant under Coach Rehr during his first season as the Head Coach for Houston’s Women’s Volleyball team.
In his time as a player for Loras College, Ross played on the inaugural team in 2015. He finished his career with the Duhawks as the single season and career leader for kills. He made the MCVL Second Team All-Midwest in 2018 while leading them to the MCVL Championship match in that same season. Ross still stands as the programs all-time leading point scorer (921) and ranks second in career aces (54).
Ross remains the school’s record holder in kills (787) and coaching victories (111) while sporting an all-time coaching record of 111-29. In his time with the Duhawks he also tutored a total of 26 all-conference selection and eight All-American selections over his six seasons.
