Nathan Trawick joined Houston Football in February 2023 as a Defensive Graduate Assistant. The 2024 season will be his second with the program.

In his current role, Trawick works with the Cougars interior defensive line, preps fronts and stunts playbook, runs the scout team and draws top run plays.

Trawick joined Houston following two seasons at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., where he coached the defensive line (2021-22) and the outside linebackers (2022). There, he handled the defensive line summer camp curriculum, senior college placement and practice and game planning scripts.

In 2021, Trawick mentored the top defense in the state of Florida as IMG Academy held opponents to 5.81 points per game including a defensive line which produced 38 sacks. That season, the program finished 11-1 and was the SSIA State Runner-Up.

Prior to IMG Academy, Trawick served as Assistant Football Coach and Varsity Wrestling Coach at Richmond High School in Richmond, Ind. On the mat, he coached upper weight classes (182-285 pounds), organized and facilitated practices and lifts and guided student-athletes in match preparation including helping produce a 2019 state qualifier. On the gridiron, he worked as a Defensive Line Coach and coordinating with the Head Coach on strategy and game planning.

Trawick received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Miami (Ohio) in 2019. He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University (Indianapolis). At Miami, he was a three-year starter on the Redhawks Football team including earning Mid-American Conference All-Academic honors in 2016. He was also a four-year member of the Track and Field Team.

His was a two-time All-State 5A competitor in football (2013-14) and Indiana Shot Put State Runner-Up in 2015 after qualifying for state in 2014. In Wrestling, Trawick was the 2015 Indiana State Runner-Up (285 pounds) after qualifying in 2014. He was a four-time Indiana North Central Academic All-Conference as well as All-Conference honoree for Football, Wrestling and Track and Field.
