• Kevin McCadam joined University of Houston in January 2019 as its Assistant Director of Football Strength & Performance. In May 2021, he was elevated to Director of Olympic Sports Performance and currently serves as Assistant Strength Coach for Football. The 2025 Football season will be his seventh with the Cougars.
• McCadam joined Houston after six seasons at West Virginia. There, he served as the Mountaineers’ Coordinator of Strength & Conditioning (Feb. 2010 – June 2013) for Football and Baseball before being elevated to Assistant Director for Football in July 2013 where his emphasis was speed and development.
• McCadam arrived Morgantown, W.Va., in 2010 after a stint as Virginia Tech’s Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant. While at Virginia Tech from May 2008 – February 2010, McCadam worked with the Hokie Football team, as well as the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams.
• From August 2007-March 2008, McCadam coached high school football at Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio. As a Volunteer Assistant Coach, he worked with Football and Strength.
• As a defensive back, McCadam played 71 games and made six starts across five NFL seasons from 2002-06. From 2002-05, he was a safety for the Atlanta Falcons, totaling 71 tackles including 62 solo stops. He finished his career in 2006 with the Carolina Panthers, competing in 16 games.
• McCadam was a two-year member of the Virginia Tech football team from 2000-01, playing in 20 games and finishing his college career with 111 tackles. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from Virginia Tech, in May 2007, and his Master of Science in Health Education in July 2009 from Virginia Tech.
• He is certified as a strength & conditioning coach by the CSCCa (May 2009-present) and is CPR/AED certified.
•McCadam and his wife, Jess, have four children, Mia, Kole, Mason and Kam.
