Lance Perkins joined the University of Houston Athletic Training staff in 2023 and works primarily with the Cougar Baseball team bringing a wealth of collegiate and professional baseball athletic training experience to Schroeder Park.
Perkins handles the baseball team’s day-to-day needs within the sports medicine program, including the evaluation of injuries, oversight of treatment and rehabilitation programs, coordination of physician care and scheduling of preseason physical exams.
Prior to his time on Cullen Blvd., he was an athletic trainer for the Texas A&M baseball team for the 2022-23 seasons.
In May-June 2018, he worked as a student intern athletic trainer with the Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Training facility in Bradenton, Fla., before working as a graduate assistant at Troy covering the track and field team in 2018-20.
A Florida State graduate, Perkins earned his start in collegiate athletics as a student athletic trainer for the Seminoles working with the baseball, football, soccer and beach volleyball teams.
Perkins has a Masters in Kinesiology from Troy and a Bachelor of Science from Florida State and is the proud dog dad to Red.
