Hurdles, Sprints and Relays

Lauren Smith is a two-time Conference USA champion having won the 60-meter hurdles at the 2002 C-USA Indoor Championships and the 100-meter hurdles at the 2001 C-USA Outdoor meet. She also ran on Houston's 4x400-meter relay teams that won the 2002 C-USA Indoor and Outdoor titles and the 4x100-meter relay that finished in second place at the 2001 C-USA Outdoor Championships.

A kinesiology major at UH, she was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters in 2001-02 and boast a 3.30 grade point average.

Smith came to Houston from Langham Creek High School in League City, Texas, where she was the state champion in the 100-meter hurdles and the runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles.
