- Kelly Golden is one of the University of Houston's fastest soccer players. During her freshman campaign in 2002 she played in 17 games, starting 14. She was named to the 2002 Conference USA All-Freshman Team, and earned C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week of Nov. 3 after lifting the women's soccer team to a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Tulane on Nov. 3., to help the Cougars secure a spot in the C-USA Tournament for the fifth straight year.
- Was second on the Cougar team with 10 points
- Led the Cougars with 51 shots overall on the season; including 26 shots-on-goal... her four goals on the year were tied with teammate Sara Hemmer for the second-most on the Cougar squad.
- In high school, Golden was the leading scorer for her State Championship team at Kingwood High School, while maintaining a 3.5 grade point average. She is now majoring in education at UH.
