Comes out of spring practice as a backup to Jeremy Davis at right guard... will battle another redshirt freshman, Byron Alfred, for the right to backup Davis... walk-on who has worked hard to improve durability and strength... could find a way to suit up for the special teams... 2003: Redshirted as a true freshman... High School: Selected as both All-County and All-District as a senior at Oak Ridge High School just north of Houston... also picked up the same accolades as a junior in 2001... helped lead the team to Region III championship with an 11-3 record... was the Rotary Club Student-of-the-Year in 1999... also lettered twice in academics... Personal: Born December 3, 1984, in Houston, Texas... son of Johnny and Peggy Cobb of Spring, Texas... also recruited by UTEP, Rice and LSU... enjoys fishing in his spare time... majoring in kinesiology.
