Cougars to compete in six events beginning Wednesday
EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Houston Track & Field team will compete in six events at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, starting Wednesday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

The Cougar men begin action on Wednesday with the men's 4x100-meter relay, 100m, 4x400-meter relay and shot put. Sophomore Cleo Agyepong competes Thursday in the women's shot put while the men resume action on Friday with the men's high jump, along with the running finals.

STARTING LINE NOTES
- The Cougars are scheduled to compete in two relays and four individual events starting Wednesday.
- Senior Louie Hinchliffe returns to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time since 2024 to compete in the men's 100m and 4x100-meter relay. Hinchliffe won the 2024 100m title with a personal best of 9.95.
- Houston's 4x100-meter relay team also returns to the NCAA Championship stage for the first time since 2024. Graduate Ryan Mulholland, freshman Sean Aigboboh, senior Dakari Charlton and Hinchliffe qualified with a time of 38.86.
- Junior Antrea Mita heads to Eugene for a third consecutive year in the men's high jump. Mita earned his qualification with a mark of 2.20m. The junior posted a personal best mark of 2.26m at the Big 12 Championship and is tied for third in program history.
- Graduate Trey East III, sophomore Damarien Jacobs, sophomore King Taylor, and freshman Dominic Harper qualified in the men's 4x400-meter relay after running a season-best time of 3:03.40 at the NCAA West Regional. East III, Jacobs and Taylor earned Second Team All-America honors last season in the 4x400-meter relay.
- Junior Cordell Nwokeji earned his spot at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career with a throw of 18.93m. He set a personal best and school record with a 19.77m throw at the Cameron Burrell Invitational.
- Sophomore Cleo Agyepong secured the only qualifying spot on the women's side in the women's shot put. Agyepong finished eighth overall at the NCAA West Regional with a personal best throw of 16.94 meters.
