Cougars stumble in Friday matchup against #12/#13 Arizona
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball team fell 10-1 in five innings in its weekend opener to #12/#13 Arizona on Friday afternoon at Cougar Softball Stadium.
Redshirt sophomore Nicole Bodeux (3-7) suffered the loss in the circle for Houston (22-22, 4-16 Big 12) while Arizona's (41-10, 15-7 Big 12) Miranda Stoddard (11-0) maintained her perfect record on the season.

2nd | After threatening in the first by loading the bases, Houston took the first lead of the game in the second. Hartley took a 0-1 pitch to left center for a solo homer, putting the Cougars up by one.
3rd | Arizona answered in the third. A walk, single and stolen base put a pair of Wildcats in scoring position for Kaiah Altmeyer, who reached on an infield single that allowed Dakota Kennedy to score to tie the game. The Wildcats then executed a double-steal that plated Regan Shockey to take the lead.
5th | Scoring another two runs in the fourth, Arizona put the game in run-rule territory in the fifth. A pair of homers drove home six runs, securing a 10-1 victory for the Wildcats.
UP NEXT
Houston continues its final regular-season series of the year with a 2 p.m., Saturday, rematch against Arizona. The teams then close out the weekend at noon, Sunday.
