Three Personal Bests Recorded at Wake Forest Invitational

Invida Maurina, Adam Mason and Emily Pharris post personal best times on Friday
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three personal bests were set by the University of Houston Track & Field program at the Wake Forest Invitational at Kentner Stadium on Friday.
Freshman Invida Maurina finished seventh overall in the women's 800-meter with a personal best time of 2:04.90. This mark places Maurina fourth on Houston's all-time performance list.
For a second consecutive weekend, senior Adam Mason lowered his time in the men's 800-meter at 1:47.81 and placed 10th in the event.
Freshman Emily Pharris improved her time in the women's 1500-meter by 12.46 seconds with her time of 4:36.10 for 41st place.
Sophomore Patrick Flowers finished 20th overall in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:20.28, marking his second appearance in the event this season.
In the men's 1500m, sophomore Aaron Crittenden crossed the finish line at 3:50.95 for 33rd place and freshman Caden Thurman followed in 35th place at 3:51.58.

The Cougars will split squads as select student-athletes head to Penn Relays in Philadelphia beginning Thursday while others will travel to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Invitational beginning Friday.
