
Football Schedule Date Changes Announced

Houston slated for two Friday night games; vs. Colorado, at UCF
HOUSTON – In coordination with the Big 12 Conference and network partners, the University of Houston Football program announced two schedule updates on Friday ahead of the 2025 season with the Cougars set to play two weekday Friday games.
Houston's first Friday night game of the season will be on Sept. 12 when the Cougars host Colorado inside TDECU Stadium. Houston will travel to UCF to play the Knights inside FBC Mortgage Stadium on Nov. 7 for its second Friday night game of the year.
With two Friday night games, Houston is set to play multiple weekday games for the second consecutive season. The Cougars enter Year 2 of the Willie Fritz era on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Stephen F. Austin before facing Colorado on Sept. 12 and traveling to UCF on Nov. 7.
Kick times and network designations will be revealed at a later date.
The Cougars are 7-3 in Friday night games dating back to 2021 with Houston beating TCU on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, 30-19, in Fort Worth, Texas.
When Houston and Colorado meet, it will mark the first meeting since 1971 when the #8 Buffaloes beat #15 Cougars 29-17 in the Bluebonnett Bowl on Dec. 31, 1971, in the Houston Astrodome.
Houston and UCF meet for the 12th time on Nov. 7 with Houston seeking its first road win against the Knights since 2015.
SEASON TICKETS
University of Houston Football season tickets are on sale for the 2025 season. For as low as $150, fans can get in on the excitement of Year 2 of the Head Coach Willie Fritz era with pivotal matchups against Stephen F. Austin, Colorado, Texas Tech, Arizona, West Virginia and TCU.
For returning season ticket holders, the renewal window is now open. The first 500 fans to renew will be invited to a VIP breakfast in the Athletics/Alumni Center on Saturday, April 19 (maximum two attendees from each account) prior to the Red-White Spring Game, which will take place at 10 a.m., inside the Carl Lewis International Complex.

ABOUT the COUGARS
Houston Football returns 77 student-athletes and welcomes 30 mid-year enrollees during its second spring under Head Coach Willie Fritz. The Cougars coaching staff also features a pair of new faces courtesy of the Southeastern Conference in Offensive Coordinator Slade Nagle (LSU) and Defensive Coordinator Austin Armstrong (Florida).
Houston's 30 newcomers include 21 transfer portal additions and nine freshman early enrollees. The group includes 15 defensive players, 14 offensive players and one specialist.
Among Houston's returners, 29 appeared in 10+ games a season ago. Thirteen returners made six-or-more starts including five who started all 12 games in defensive back Latrell McCutchin Sr., defensive back A.J. Haulcy, defensive back Kentrell Webb, offensive lineman Demetrius Hunter and defensive lineman Carlos Allen Jr.
