The Cougars head to Charlie Thomas Invitational, Men’s high jump set to attend Doc Hale Invitational
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Houston Track & Field program is back on the road this weekend for the Charlie Thomas Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M, beginning Friday at the R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track. Meanwhile, the men's high jump squad will compete at the Doc Hale Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech at Rector Fieldhouse in Blacksburg, Va.

LAST TIME OUT
Freshman Grace MacDonald secured the first victory of the weekend as she crossed the finish line first in the women's 1000m at 2:55.03 followed by freshman Emily Pharris in second at 2:55.70 at the Robert Platt Invitational.

Junior Kaycee McCoy headlined the women's 60-meter hurdles, setting a personal-best time of 8.16 to win the event for the fifth fastest time in program history.

Freshman Invida Maurina won the women's 600-yard dash with a time of 1:21.35 for second on Houston's all-time indoor performance list. Maurina also earned a runner-up finish in the women's 400-meter with a time of 55.55.

Graduate KeAyla Dove claimed victory in the women's shot put with a mark of 17.27m while freshman Sydney Freeman delivered a career-best performance with a throw of 14.13m for third.

Freshman Kali Magana secured a second place in the women's 600-yard, clocking a time of 1:24.72. Â

Freshman distance runner Emily Pharris was first to cross the finish line in the 800-meter with a time of 2:12.08.

Freshman Carlysia Cresser set a new personal best time in the women's 200-meters as she crossed the finish line in 24.84 for third place.

The Cougars showcased their strength in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a second-place finish by senior Jamar Marshall Jr. at 7.81 followed by junior Anthony Trucks at 7.83.

Senior Brice Chabot captured first place in the men's 200-meter, crossing the finish line in 21.05. Junior Ryan Mulholland took second place with a time of 21.37.

The Houston men's 4x400-meter relay crew consisting of senior Nakoah Witt, freshman Elijah Hernandez, senior Adam Mason and freshman Damarien Jacobs saw success as it won the relay with a time of 3:11.39.

Sophomore Cordell Nwokeji threw 17.76m for second place in the men's shot put and senior Kevin Grubbs placed third with his throw of 17.10m.

Freshman Athena Stith earned her first collegiate podium in the women's long jump as she recorded a jump of 5.59m on her first attempt for third place.

Junior Ali Mack totaled a personal best in the women's pentathlon with 3,653 points for third place with a personal best in the shot put at 11.13m and in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.47.

Senior My'Kell Beck made his season debut with a victory in the men's high jump, clearing 2.10m to tie his personal best. Sophomore Antrea Mita matched the height to secure second place.
