Houston falls in series opener at UT Arlington on Friday
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Houston Baseball team dropped the series opener at UT Arlington, 7-4, on Friday night at Clay Gould Ballpark.
Houston (5-3) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to RBI hits by second baseman Connor McGinnis and designated hitter Carsten Sabathia III.
UT Arlington (3-3) countered with a three-run first inning of its own capitalizing on three walks with three timely singles.
The Mavericks added on in the second with two more runs on three additional hits to make it 5-3.
