ABOUT the COUGARS
With Monday's win at #10/10 Texas Tech, Houston Men's Basketball enjoyed its second straight Big 12 Conference regular-season championship.
It also marked the seventh straight season that the Cougars recorded at least one conference tournament championship (regular season or tournament) during Head Coach Kelvin Sampson's award-winning Houston career.
With Monday's win, the Cougars became the first school in more than a century to join a major conference and win the Men's Basketball regular-season title in each of their first two seasons in the league.
In 2024-25, the Cougars have posted a 24-4 overall record and hold a three-game lead in the league with a 16-1 mark. Houston has won 36 of its last 37 home games inside Fertitta Center and recently hosted ESPN College GameDay covered by State Farm for the second time in program history.
