Arthurs joins Houston after two seasons at Cincinnati
HOUSTON – After two seasons at Big 12 rival Cincinnati, Jada Arthurs joins the University of Houston Soccer team, Head Coach Ben Williams announced Tuesday.
"Jada is a dynamic, dangerous attacker who gave us real problems when we faced her earlier this season," Williams said. "She's direct, aggressive on the dribble, and constantly puts defenses under pressure. Her style fits exactly how we want to play, and we're excited about her upside and the spark she'll bring to our attack."
As a sophomore, Arthurs played in 17 matches making seven starts. She scored a goal in a 2-0 win over Central Michigan and assisted the other goal. Arthurs recorded her second career assist in a 1-1 draw against Northern Kentucky.
Arthurs played in 14 matches in her freshman season, scoring her first career goal in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament against Oklahoma State.
The Brantford, Ontario, native played club for Rush Canada Soccer Academy in the Ontario Provincial Development League and was a top 10 goal scorer for three years before being invited to the NDC and Provincial Xcel program combines.
