PREVIEW: Cross Country Heads to Big 12 Championship on Friday

Cougars' open postseason action in Lawrence, Kan.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Houston Cross Country team will travel to Lawrence, Kan., for the 2025 Big 12 Cross Country Championship presented by Allstate on Friday at Rim Rock Farm.
The men will open the meet with the 8k at 10 a.m., and the women will follow with the 6k at 11 a.m.
The awards ceremony will take place at approximately Noon CT, beginning with the men's awards presentation and the women's presentation to follow immediately after.
LAST TIME OUT
For the third straight meet, freshman Zac Miller and redshirt freshman Addison Hite led the Cougars at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
The men's team finished 10th overall in the 8k. Miller once again led the pack, placing 18th with a personal-best 23:39.9, followed by junior Patrick Flowers (84th, personal-best 24:26.4), junior Aaron Crittenden (90th, 24:30.2), sophomore Remay Abraha (91st, 24:30.9) and sophomore Caden Thurman (117th, 24:48.3).
On the women's side, the Cougars placed 13th in the 6k. Hite led the team in 37th place (20:40.7), followed by sophomore Cadence Patterson (50th, personal-best 20:55.4), sophomore Lily Campos (102nd, personal-best 21:49.2), freshman Sophia Nguyen (112th, 21:58.6) and sophomore Julia Shimel (126th, 22:08.2).
