
PREVIEW: Women’s Golf Closes Fall Season at The Bear Brawl

Emilia Väistö, Chiara Brambilla and Sadie Adams to compete as individuals at Ridgewood Country Club
WACO, Texas – The University of Houston Women's Golf program closes its fall schedule when it tees off at The Bear Brawl at Ridgewood Country Club on Tuesday morning.Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla recently added the event to the Cougars' fall schedule.
Schools will play 36 holes with a 9 a.m., shotgun start. The Second Round will begin shortly after the First Round is completed with the event free and open to all fans.
In their most recent action, the Cougars posted the low team score of the day in the Final Round of the Landfall Tradition at Country Club of Landfall and finished seventh with a three-day score of 874.
Senior Moa Svedenskiöld fired a 4-under 68 in the Final Round to lead the Cougars and rose into a tie for sixth at 4-under 212. It was her season-best finish of the season and the 10th Top-Five showing of her award-winning career.

MEET the COUGARSUnder the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, the Cougars will be represented by sophomore Emilia Väistö, redshirt freshman Chiara Brambilla and freshman Sadie Adams.
After transferring to Houston during the summer, Väistö has competed in two tournaments during her first season with the Cougars.
Brambilla made her collegiate debut at the season-opening Schooner Fall Classic on Sept. 20-21 after sitting out a year ago as a redshirt. Adams will be making her collegiate debut following an award-winning junior career in her native England.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in an 11-team field featuring North Texas, UT Arlington, UT Rio Grande Valley, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M, East Texas A&M, UIW, Houston Christian, Stephen F. Austin and host Baylor.
TEE TIMES
The Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Baylor and Texas A&M.
Väistö begins the day off No. 2 with Adams (No. 3) and Brambilla (No. 4) following.

Following The Bear Brawl, the Cougars will take their holiday break from competition.
Houston returns to action to begin its spring season at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Jan. 30-31.
From there, the Cougars will play host to their own Chevron Collegiate at Golf Club of Houston on Feb. 23-24. The Cougars welcome a 17-team field, which includes Arkansas, Baylor, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Texas, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Texas State, ULM, UNCW and UTSA.
