Houston opens indoor season with field events at 11 a.m., and running events at 1:30 p.m.
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field program kicks off its 2025 indoor season with the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational on Friday at Yeoman Fieldhouse. Field events begin at 11 a.m., with running events starting at 1:30 p.m.

STARTING LINE NOTES
- The Cougars begin their second season in the Big 12 Conference with the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational at Yeoman Fieldhouse.
- Houston boasts the return of three All-Americans: sophomore Michaela Mouton, sophomore Cayden Broadnax and senior Grant Levesque.
- Honorable mention All-American Antrea Mita also returns for his sophomore campaign.
- The Cougars return 17 of their 2024 NCAA West Preliminary Round qualifiers.
- Houston welcomes nine experienced transfers including four All-Americans: KeAyla Dove, John Adesola, Abdirizak Ibrahim and Ryan Mulholland.
- Houston also adds a total of 55 freshmen to the squad with 34 on the women's side and 21 on the men's side.
- Houston Football and Track & Field will join forces as freshman JayShon Ridgle joins the track program to compete in the hurdle events this spring. Ridgle, a decorated hurdler in high school, was the Alabama State Champion in the 60-meter and 110-meter hurdles.
- The Cougars also welcome Great Britain standout, Noah Hanson. The freshman represented Great Britain in the 110-meter hurdles at the World Athletics U-20 Championships in Lima, Peru where he finished 11th overall.
- At its first Big 12 Indoor Championship, Houston claimed four conference titles and set three meet records.
- Grant Levesque, a standout multi-event athlete, won the heptathlon title and earned Second-Team All-America honors at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, where he set an NCAA Heptathlon record in the pole vault.
- At the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Houston men won the 100-meter dash and placed third in the pole vault.
- The men's team finished sixth overall with 30.5 points, the highest among Big 12 teams. This marked the highest point total for the Cougars since posting 40 points at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
- The women's team finished in 33rd place with eight points, the most points scored since the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
- Sophomore sprinter Cayden Broadnax earned All-America status as a member of Houston's third place 4x100-meter relay team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore.
- Three-time All-American sophomore Michaela Mouton holds the 400-meter indoor and outdoor school record.
- Mouton was also a member of Houston's 4x400-meter relay crew, where the team won the indoor and outdoor title at the Big 12 Championship and placed third at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Mouton ran the anchor leg where the group smashed the indoor and outdoor school record.
- In late August, Mouton won gold as a member of Team USA's 4x400-meter relay and placed eighth in 400-meter at the 2024 World Athletics U-20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
- Sophomore Antrea Mita won the Greek Championship in high jump with a personal best of 2.20m (7' 2.50") and later competed at the World Athletics U-20 Championships. Mita finished fourth in the Big 12 Indoor Championship and placed 17th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
