Soccer Drops Contest to #22 TCU

Houston records first goal in Big 12 action
HOUSTON – Despite scoring its first goal in Big 12 Conference play, the University of Houston Soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to #22 TCU on Thursday evening at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
Houston (3-6-1, 0-4 Big 12) wraps its two-game homestand when it hosts #25 Texas Tech at 1 p.m. Sunday when it hosts Alumni Day.
TCU (8-2-1, 3-0-1 Big 12) took a 1-0 lead into the locker room after Lauren Memoly scored on a loose ball in the 36th minute.
The Horned Frogs doubled their lead in the 56th minute when Bella Diorio's corner kick found Morgan Brown who headed in the goal.
In the 69th minute, Caroline Kelly got past the defender to find the bottom left corner for her sixth goal of the season.
Houston would get one back in the 81st minute when senior midfielder Juliet Moore netted sophomore midfielder Aryanna Jimison's deflected shot to score the first goal in Big 12 play this season for the Cougars.
Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Manning made her first career start and posted a career high six saves.
