Wells Competes with USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team in Dallas

Freshman Brooke Wells plays with the U-18 National Team at the WBSC U-18 World Cup Group Stage event this weekend
HOUSTON – University of Houston Softball freshman Brooke Wells is competing with the USA Softball Junior Women's National Team this weekend at the World Baseball Softball Congress U-18 World Cup Group Stage in Dallas. Wells, a freshman on the 2025 roster, was named to the squad in January.
"Brooke having the opportunity to play with USA across her chest is a testament to all of her hard work and talent," Head Coach Kristin Vesely said. "We can't wait to watch her represent her country and the Coogs on a world stage!"
When she signed with Houston in November 2023, Wells was ranked as the #26 recruit in Extra Inning Softball's Extra Elite 100. She was also ranked 16th in the Southwest Region and the third-best first baseman in the 2024 class.
Wells is one of sixteen players on the USA Softball U-18 Junior Women's National Team (JWNT). The top-ranked USA team will play five round-robin games through this weekend before the playoff round begins Monday. The full schedule for USA is below:
