Houston awaits its Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship draw following end of regular season

WACO, Texas – The University of Houston lost its final game of the regular season to Baylor, 6-0, at Getterman Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Shelby Smith (10-14) received the loss for Houston (25-29, 4-23 Big 12) in the circle, allowing three runs on five hits. Aliyah Binford (11-10) picked up the win as Baylor moved to 31-19 with a 14-14 mark in Big 12 Conference play.

Game Highlights
●      Rollin tied her career high with two stolen bases in the game, marking the eight time she's swiped a pair in a game. It's also the fifth time a Cougar has stolen two bases in a game this season.
●      Smith made her 36^th appearance in the circle of the season, moving her into a tie with Hannah Todd (2022) for seventh on Houston's single-season list.
●      Rollin tied her season-high by reaching base in her eighth consecutive game.
●      Houston stole four bases in a game for the fourth time this season.

Key Innings
3^rd | Back-to-back singles and a walk loaded the bases and Baylor capitalized as Ana Watson laced a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Bears a 3-0 lead after three.

5^th | Baylor added another run in the fifth. Loading the bases, the Bears used a single to drive home one before graduate Taylor Edwards defused the threat, keeping the deficit at four.

6^th | The Bears capped the scoring with another pair of runs in the sixth. A leadoff walk followed by a triple off the bat of Emily Hott started the scoring in the inning, with Hott eventually scoring on a wild pitch to give Baylor a 6-0 win.
