We are two months into the 2024 season and there is plenty of noteworthy information to update Houston Cougar Baseball fans about already. Cougar alums have been traded, promoted and made MLB debuts, while a steady dose of Cougars continue to get better down on the farms.
This is the first of a monthly summer series updating fans on Houston Cougars in affiliated baseball.

Made his first MLB Opening Day Roster and has played in 50 games across three different positions with the majority at second base. The infielder had a season-long five game hitting streak going in early April.

Gasser has wowed in his first four starts for the Brewers since being promoted for his Big League debut on May 10. The southpaw has struck out 13 in his first 23.0 innings at the MLB level with a 1.96 ERA. Gasser spun 6.0 scoreless in his MLB debut with four strikeouts while allowing no walks and no runs.

Traded to the White Sox by the Astros on May 15, Julks was called up to the White Sox two days later and has played in 11 games since then. On the Southside, Julks his hitting .303 with 10 hits and four extra-base hits.

A steady horse in the El Paso bullpen, Hernandez has pitched scoreless outings in 11 of his last 12 appearances. The right hander has dropped his ERA from 6.35 after allowing four runs in his first three appearances, to 2.08 after pitching nine straight scoreless outings.

Nearly perfect as the Quad City closer with five saves in six chances. Has worked 14 scoreless in his 17 appearances out of the bullpen. Had a seven- and five-game stretch where he did not allow a run.
