Cougars Drop Match to #7 Texas

Houston wraps the weekend against #21 Oklahoma 1 p.m., Sunday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis program dropped its match, 4-0, to #7 Texas at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility on Friday.
The Cougars (1-10, 0-5 Big 12) will return to action against #21 Oklahoma at 1 p.m., Sunday. Admission is free for all home Houston Tennis matches.
DOUBLES
On court one, Malaika Rapolu and Tanya Sasnouskaya got out to a hot start as they defeated sophomores Sonya Kovalenko and Sophie Schouten, 6-1.
Texas (11-3, 4-0 Big 12) clinched the doubles point on court three when sophomore Gabriela Cortes and junior Elena Trencheva fell to Sachf Lieberman and Taisiya Pachkaleva, 6-2.
SINGLES
On court one, No. 21 Rapolu swept senior Laura Slisane, 6-0, 6-0, to double the Longhorn's lead. Charlotte Chavatipon defeated junior Maria Dzemeshkevich, 6-1, 6-3, on court three for the third point of the day.
Texas scored the fourth and final point when Pachkaleva knocked off Cortes, 6-1, 7-5, to secure the match.

Houston continues at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility as it hosts #20 Oklahoma at 1 p.m., Sunday.
