
Tennis Announces 2025 Spring Schedule

Cougars host 10 home matches in 21-match slate
HOUSTON – University of Houston tennis first-year head coach Katarina Adamovic announced the 2025 spring schedule on Monday, including matches against 13 opponents who finished last season in the top 75 nationally.
The Cougars open the 2025 campaign Jan. 10-12, with a trip to Miami, Fla., for a hidden dual at FIU.
Houston hosts North Texas on Jan. 19, before a doubleheader featuring Portland and UT Arlington on Jan. 26. The Cougars wrap January by welcoming Tarleton State to the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility on Jan. 31.
The Scarlet & White are on the road the entire month of February as they travel to Rice (Feb. 5), SMU (Feb. 7) and UTSA (Feb. 16) to close non-conference competition.
The Cougars begin Big 12 action at Oklahoma State (Feb. 28) followed by a trip to Manhattan, Kan., to face Kansas State (March 2).
Houston opens the Big 12 home slate with a four-game homestand against TCU (March 7), Baylor (March 9), Kansas (March 14) and Iowa State (March 16).
The Cougars head back on the road with a trip to Lubbock, Texas to face Texas Tech (March 21) and Boulder, Colo., to take on Colorado (March 23).
Houston hosts West Virginia (March 28) and Cincinnati (March 30) before turning the page to April.
The Cougars finish the regular season on the road with a trip to Orlando, Fla., to take on UCF (April 5) and two matches in Utah against the Utes (April 10) and BYU (April 12).
The Big 12 Conference Championships will take place April 16-20 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
The First and Second Rounds of the NCAA tournament begin on May 3, on campus sites to be determined, with the National Championships taking place May 15-18 from the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Cougars bring a new-look team into the 2025 season with five transfers including Santa Strombacha, who was ranked the 109th singles player before the fall season. Valeriia Krokhotina, Elizaveta Morozova, Iva Sepa and Strombacha followed Adamovic from Grand Canyon, and Heta Nuutinen comes to Houston from McNeese.
Juniors Gabriela Cortes and Sophie Schouten are the lone returners from last year's squad.
